First Bilateral Meeting Between MECC & MAICC

On 28 April 2026, the Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) and the Macao ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce (MAICC) held their inaugural bilateral meeting to strengthen exchanges, consolidate cooperation foundations, and explore long-term strategic collaboration.
During the meeting, representatives shared their respective institutional backgrounds, operational priorities, and development goals—covering trade, economic exchange, cultural and tourism connections, and cross-regional market linkages between Macau, ASEAN, the Greater Bay Area, and Europe.

🤝 Key outcomes included:
1. Practical collaboration proposals such as mutual event resource sharing, joint business matching sessions, reciprocal event invitations, and interconnection of member networks

2. Agreement to set up a regular bilateral communication mechanism, with meetings to be held every six months

3. Confirmation of early action plans, including information sharing on MAICC’s upcoming Vietnam mission (18–21 June) and event invitations coordinated by MECC

📅 Upcoming highlights:
1. MECC Annual Gala Dinner: 15 May 2026 (with cultural and business networking activities)

2. MAICC Vietnam Business Mission: 18–21 June (investment & market exploration, tourism & construction)

Both sides also held in-depth discussions on international business development themes—such as enhancing the competitive advantages of Macau and Hengqin, and exploring legal and fiscal support structures to further improve Hengqin’s global investment appeal.

We look forward to ongoing collaboration and shared opportunities across Europe, Macau, ASEAN, and the Greater Bay Area.
